I believe that we're always looking to reorganize towards more harmonious expressions of our beingness.

I feel fortunate and inspired to engage in my present work as a therapist, which requires me to continually draw from my own always-evolving experience.

In previous phases of my life, I've been a community college professor, English teacher, dusty traveler, free-lance writer, and rushing waitress.

Wandering shady trails through firs and cedars, listening to the ocean's persistent roar, feeling the sun-warmed sand beneath me, and appreciating the rain washing the green leaves fresh again--these are some of my great pleasures during my free time.  I'm passionate about learning, and have more books in my home than I can get to.  Becoming a great therapist is a lifetime commitment, and I'm dedicated to using my skills, wisdom, grace, intuition, and humor to help my clients.

My educational background includes:
  • California Institute of Integral Studies, 2011. MA, Integral Counseling Psychology
  • Goddard College, 2006. MA, Psychology and Literature
  • University of Richmond, BA, International Studies and Art History

My therapeutic background and ongoing training and interests have focused on:
Present-moment, mindfulness-based orientations such as Gestalt, Hakomi, and AEDP, Relational Psychodynamic work, as well as specific training in Couples Counseling encompassing both attachment and differentiation models
.
Significant trainings and teachers I have been fortunate to learn from include:
  • Ongoing consultation in somatic and relational therapy with Wendy Heffner
  • Couples Institute training (in process) with Ellyn Bader
  • Assorted trainings and ongoing study in AEDP
  • Hakomi, META, Couples Counseling, and R-CS Somatic Psychotherapy Training Assistant
  • Ongoing consultation in Hakomi technique and Couples Therapy with Rob Fisher
  • Hakomi Comprehensive Training (2 years)
  • Bay Area Gestalt Institute: consultation and training with Lu Grey and Frank Rubenfeld
  • Church Street Integral Counseling Center, San Francisco:  extensive Gestalt training with Lu Grey and Gieve Patel

I've also been the Teaching Assistant for the following graduate courses at the California Institute of Integral Studies:
  • The Mindfulness and Compassion Certificate Program
  • Couples Counseling

  • The Clinical Relationship
  • Jungian Psychology and East-West Spirituality
